Weather Hazards Training
March 6, 2008 - 10:20am
BSA National has released a new online training in its "My Scouting" part of the website called "Weather Hazards". It teaches about various types of weather conditions and safety issues involved. I just took it and while I already knew a lot of the material, I did learn some interesting things. If you have not already signed up for a "My Scouting" account, you'll need to do that before you can take any of the courses available.

Re: Weather Hazards Training
If you haven't already taken this course, you should do so while the deaths of the Scouts in Iowa is still fresh in your memory.
The newest revision of the Local Tour Permit (2008 printing) says...
Quote:
"Effective for tours on January 1, 2009, at least one adult must have completed Planning and Preparing for Hazardous
Weather training."
