2007 Ottawa County Points of Pride
- 374 Scouts participated in collecting 8838 food items for local food banks.
- 25 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle Scout out of 502 Boy Scouts. This represents 5% which exceeds the National percentage of 2%.
- Through these Eagle projects 2,582 community service hours, or a total of 107 days, were provided to the county. This does not include the numerous of hours of community service given to by all Scouts in Ottawa County.
- 133 Scouts and leaders participated in the September 11th salute to honor the memory of those who gave their life for our county on this fateful day.
- 121 promising youth with challenging situations participated in our after school Scouting experience through our Scoutreach program. This program is completely funded by our Council with no cost to the youth.
- 200 youth participated in our summer Scouting program. These youth were involved in the West Ottawa Summer Migrant program, Holland Parks and Recreation and Boy’s and Girl’s Club summer program. This program is completely funded by our Council and is no cost to the youth.
- Ottawa County Scouts continued it’s collaboration with the American Red Cross by sponsoring a Holiday Heroes blood drive in December and collected 40 pints of blood to help the community supply. Scouts recruited donors and volunteered at the drive.
